K-5 Art Classes:
Meet once a week for the entire year. In the class room students learn in a TAB (teaching artistic behavior) style. This focuses on the student being the artist and the classroom being their art studio. Students will have demonstrations on different medias, elements of art and artists. The student becomes the artists and decides how they want to use this new information in their own art work. This will enhance the students creativity and problem solving skills. Along with having them create art they are proud of!
Middle School Art Classes:
Meet for 9 weeks. In this time frame they will have sketchbook drawing challenges, large projects which will focus on the elements of art and principles of design, guided drawing lessons, they will also learn how to critique art work using art related vocabulary.
In 8th grade students will do projects based on art career options. They will choose careers in art (photography, graphic designs, illustrator, interior designer, etc) and complete a project based on that career. This will help 8th grade students to decide what art classes they want to take moving into high school.
