I have lived in Granton sine 1992 in the same home and I love living here. Most of my family lives in the area, although personally, I did not grown up in the area. I grew up in Marshfield and then Eau Claire, followed by Cottage Grove, MN and then Greenville, TN, finally landing in Granton when I was 21 years old. I live in a 150+ year old Victorian farmhouse that basically is my hobby outside of work. Between the house and the property it is a fulltime job all by itself, but I love it!
I went back to school as a non-traditional student at the age of 45 and earned my bachelors degree in cross-categorical special education in the spring of 2022. Special Education is my passion and making a difference in my students lives is what drives me each and every day of my life.
I love to travel across the United States camping and hiking along the way. I have hiked into the Rocky Mountains both northern and southern, hiked to Grinnell Glacier in Montana, into Death Valley, and this past summer down into the Grand Canyon and out. I just love to learn and discover new things and am a hands on learner who learns best through experience. After traveling around the country, I now have very vivid pictorial understandings of things I never thought I would, like the inner workings of an oil rig and how dinosaurs footprints were turned into fossilized footprints.
I have two dogs, two cats, a bearded dragon, a Russian tortoise, and too many guppies, but I do love them all.
I love my job at Granton School and believe that I have found my second calling in life (after being mom to four daughters).
