- What are you doing now? I am the 4th grade teacher here at Granton Schools and was recently recognized as a Crystal Apple award recipient for our district. I have been married to my 8th grade sweetheart, Ezra, for almost 7 years. We live in Granton and have a beautiful 3 year old daughter, Evelyn and 2 month old daughter, Eloise.
- After high school, what did you do, where did you go? I attended UW Oshkosh where I earned a degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Special Education. I began my teaching career in Granton in 2017 and have been here ever since.
- What do you think were some of your greatest accomplishments during your time at Granton School? I was very involved in our FFA Chapter, holding the position of President and Student Advisor and participating in numerous speaking contests. I attribute many of awards and things I have accomplished in my teaching career to the knowledge and experiences I gained through the FFA.
- Which teacher left the biggest impact on your life and why? Mrs. Steinbach is a teacher who truly shaped who I was as a student and left a lifelong impact on my life. She always held me to a high standard and encouraged me to help others and step out of my comfort zone and try new things. She is the reason why I went into teaching and continue to strive to be a better teacher everyday. It is because of her that I set the goal of being recognized as a teacher who makes a lifelong difference in the lives of their students just like she did for me.
- What is your fondest memory from Granton School? Being able to build relationships with my teachers and being seen as more than just another student in their class. Our classes are personalized to meet the needs of each student and you are able to participate in so much outside of the classroom that involves hands-on and community based experiences.
- If you could give one piece of advice to our current students, what advice would that be? Always strive to be the best that you can be. So much is possible with the right mindset and work ethic. Get to know your teachers and find one that you can connect with, even if they are a teacher from elementary school. They may have some great resources that could help you get accepted into college or land your dream job.
