The Granton Area School District envisions a school where all children are healthy, ready to learn and prepared to make healthy lifelong choices. Evidence show that when schools address students' health needs, they can improve student performance and alleviate financial constraints.
The role of our Health Coordinator is to:
- Perform duties relating to the health and well-being of school district employees and students attending school.
- Manage health information and develop systems to ensure safety prior to and within the school day.
- Consult with health officials, staff, and school district officials to ensure proper compliance and administration of the various laws, regulations, technical practices, operations and management techniques with regard to the health concerns within public school facilities.
- Assist in planning, organizing and directing all undertakings relating to the overall health of public-school staff and students.
The Health Coordinator is Dr. Courtney J. Schoessow, DHA, MPH.
Office hours for Dr. Schoessow are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. She travels between buildings and may be reached at 715-937-1212 or by calling the Granton Area School District at 715-238-5147.
