The Title I Reading Program uses a combination of district assessment scores to determine eligibility. As a result of these assessments, we determine reading groups according to guided reading levels. Students in grades K-5 are then provided with daily, 30-minute lessons using Fountas and Pinnell's Leveled Literacy Intervention Systems. Other additional support may include interventions that use a combination of alphabetics and phonics instruction. Our goal is to have every student proficient in the five areas of reading including phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
