I am very excited to be back at Granton for another year and am even more excited for what the school year holds. The Granton Area School District Ag Program offers several unique opportunities for its students: our facility offers a classroom with lab stations, greenhouse, school orchard, community garden, several flower gardens, outdoor classroom, and aquaculture tank to raise fish.
This year we are offering the following ag classes: Middle School Ag, Career Leadership, Animal Science, Ag Affairs/Current Events in Ag, Forestry, Landscaping, Plants in the Greenhouse, Wildlife, GPS/GIS, and Vet Science. Our Ag Department was fortunate enough to be a recipient of a Wisconsin Environmental Education Board grant, which has allowed us to acquire several new materials for hands-on learning in the Forestry and Wildlife classes.
Our program also offers an opportunity for any student enrolled in an agriculture class to join FFA! FFA is free for any student to join and strives to encourage students to develop premier leadership, personal growth, and career success.
If you would like to learn more about the courses being offered or opportunities provided through FFA, please feel free to stop in the Ag Room and chat :)
